Research on Downhole Gas Separation Method Based on a PDMS Separation Membrane

Safe and efficient deep drilling is a fundamental requirement for the development of oil gas resources. In this regard, application membrane separation technology fluid monitoring highly significant. study, several commonly used permeable materials were analyzed, PDMS was preliminarily selected as suitable material downhole separation. We designed an experimental setup to investigate performance membranes. The effects pressure difference, operating temperature, thickness on membranes microstructure changes in under high temperature observed using scanning electron microscopy. results showed that with 150–200 μm can work stably maintain good strength permeability at difference 1.1 MPa 150 °C. SEM observations revealed had smooth surface uniform after continuous operations 15 h conditions, without any cracks, demonstrating resistance. These research provide important reference technology.
